The 3D gait analysis system combines high-precision sensors, camera technology and computer algorithms to conduct all-round real-time monitoring and analysis of gait (walking, running, standing and other actions). It mainly collects data and analyzes gait through the following technologies:
Motion capture technology
The 3D gait analysis system uses motion capture technology (such as infrared cameras, markers or reflectors) to track the changes in the joint position of the human body during movement. These cameras can capture the 3D coordinates of each joint of the human body in motion to reconstruct the complete gait trajectory. The camera system is usually installed in a fixed position and uses multiple perspectives to ensure the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the data.
Plate pressure plate/sensor
The system is equipped with a plantar pressure plate or pressure sensor to measure the pressure distribution in different parts of the sole of the foot with each step. These sensors can record the pressure size and changes in different areas of the sole of the foot (such as the forefoot, heel, arch, etc.) when walking or running in real time, helping to analyze the stability and balance of gait.
Kinematic analysis
Through the collected three-dimensional coordinate data, the three-dimensional gait analysis system will perform kinematic analysis on the athlete’s gait, including key indicators such as stride length, stride frequency, gait symmetry, and stride angle. The system calculates the angle changes of the joints when walking or running, and infers various biomechanical parameters of the gait, such as gait cycle, stride, gait cycle, etc.

Data processing and analysis
The system will use dedicated gait analysis software to process and analyze the acquired motion data. By calculating the joint motion trajectory, mechanical pressure data, etc., the software can generate a personalized three-dimensional gait model, showing the motion trajectory and pressure changes of each joint during the movement.
Three-dimensional model generation
Through the motion capture system and pressure data, the software can reconstruct an accurate three-dimensional gait model. These models can help analysts understand the key points in the movement process in detail, identify asymmetry or abnormal posture in gait, and provide data support for diagnosis, rehabilitation or personalized correction.
The working principle of the 3D gait analysis system combines technologies such as motion capture, plantar pressure measurement and kinematic analysis. It uses high-precision equipment to record motion data and processes it through algorithms to ultimately generate a 3D gait model for a comprehensive and accurate gait analysis. These data provide important scientific basis for clinical rehabilitation, athlete training, shoe design and other fields.
