The principle and function of the plantar pressure test board

What is a plantar pressure test board?

The plantar pressure test board is a device that senses the stress conditions in different areas of the sole of the foot. It looks like a flat platform with high-density pressure sensors inside. When a person stands on it or walks over it, the device captures the pressure changes of each inch of the sole of the foot in real time when it contacts the ground.

The system then converts this data into an intuitive heat map or dynamic image, showing the force distribution of each foot when standing statically or walking dynamically.

    How does it work?

The core of the plantar pressure test board is thousands of micro pressure sensors arranged in a grid. When the sole of the foot is pressed on its surface, the pressure in different areas will be accurately recorded.

The test process is divided into two types:

Static test: used to analyze the balance of the sole load when standing, often used to determine whether the force of the left and right feet is consistent, whether the arch support is normal, etc.

Dynamic test: record the force changes in various areas of the sole of the foot when a person walks or runs, and evaluate whether the gait is balanced and whether there are compensatory abnormalities, etc.

    Foot Pressure Analysis System

The entire test process is fast, non-invasive, and does not require taking off socks. The data is displayed in real time and can be saved for analysis. It is suitable for people of all ages.

What can the plantar pressure test board do?

    1. Evaluate the health of the feet

It can determine whether there are problems such as flat feet, high arches, hallux valgus, plantar fasciitis, etc., and help doctors develop correction and rehabilitation plans.

    2. Assist in customizing insoles and orthopedic products

Through the force distribution map, design functional insoles that are more in line with the individual structure to achieve arch support, forefoot decompression, heel stability and other purposes.

    3. Sports performance and injury prevention analysis

Runners, players and other sports people can optimize running and standing postures through dynamic gait analysis, reduce joint burden and sports injury risks.

    4. Postoperative rehabilitation and long-term monitoring

Perform phased testing on the elderly and rehabilitation patients to monitor changes in plantar pressure and assist in evaluating muscle strength recovery or gait improvement effects.

Why is it becoming more and more important?

The foot is an important supporting structure of the human body. Any small abnormality may affect the knee joint, spine and even the whole body posture.

The plantar pressure test board provides a visual, quantitative and personalized testing method, allowing doctors, rehabilitation therapists and shoe designers to understand and deal with foot problems more scientifically.

In the future, with the development of personalized health management, this technology will not only be used in hospitals, but may also enter more stores and homes, becoming a “window” for everyone to understand their own body.
