The principle of measuring plantar pressure using gait analysis equipment

The core technology behind gait analysis devices for measuring plantar pressure is as follows:

1. Core Sensing Technology

Pressure Sensor Array

Using a flexible thin film grid of tactile pressure sensors, a scanning circuit detects impedance changes at each contact point on the plantar surface in real time, converting them into electrical signals and generating a pressure distribution coordinate map.

Multimodal Data Fusion

Combining pressure sensors (dynamic data), electromyographic sensors (muscle activation status), and infrared cameras (kinematic data) enables 3D gait analysis.

2. Data Processing Flow

Static Analysis: Measures foot shape, center of gravity distribution, and peak pressure during standing, identifying structural abnormalities such as flat feet and arched feet.

Dynamic Analysis: Captures center of pressure trajectory, stride length/width parameters, and joint force characteristics during walking.
